Oh look, it's a blog post!

I like the idea of having a blog on my website, and I’ve had several blogs in the past. Unfortunately, I haven’t been very consistent with any of them. Something always happens. I don’t have time to make a post. I don’t have anything to say. Or maybe I’d rather be writing something else (like my books!). When that happens, I usually quit updating it…or delete it altogether.

Having said all that, I can’t promise this blog will be updated regularly, but I would like a space to write about what’s on my mind every now and then. So here is a blog post!

I’m excited about leaving Wix and moving my author website to my Payhip shop. I feel like Payhip is getting more popular and soon, more authors will join. I love it so far. It’s so much easier to update than Wix. Sure, Wix was drag and drop and you didn’t need to know code, but it was very tedious when it came to adding images on a page. You’d have to move everything around and hope that it looked good on mobile. And don’t even get me started about their forms which don’t work half the time. I made the mistake of deleting a form and could never get the automatic welcome email to come back. I gave up.

I think the only thing that I need to learn when it comes to this website is how to make a banner at the top like I’ve seen others do. Maybe I need to switch my theme? I don’t know. But I did make a banner yesterday which I think turned out really pretty. I used one of my DepositPhotos credits to download a heart-shaped vector. (Is that what it’s called?) I put my logo and tagline on it. Maybe if I can figure out how to do it, I’ll put it on my site. Photo in the post.

In other news, my latest promo went well. Since I was releasing book 4 in my series, I did three promos for book 1. I made back enough money in sales to pay for two of the promos. The only downside, and I’m kicking myself for this, is that I made all the website changes AFTER the promo, so everyone who downloaded Thrill of the Chase didn’t get the updated link to my reader magnet. If they really want to read it, I’m sure they can find it, but they probably will just get frustrated with a broken link and forget about it. If you are one of those readers who clicked a broken link, I am sorry. I just had so much going on pre-launch that the website changes ended up not happening in time. Lesson learned. Perhaps it’s a good thing that I’m not so popular yet…haha. Oh, and if you are one of those readers, here is the corrected link: https://dl.bookfunnel.com/t3bgn56ub2

Well, speaking of popularity, I won’t become a bestselling author if I don’t get some more books out. I should probably get back to working on book 5 in my series. My cats are sleeping right now, taking their afternoon Sunday nap, and that’s a good time for me to write!

Until next time…whenever that is!
